Wow. I had a friend hit by a GWS surfing the beach break at Pomponio in 2006. Bit, but survived. I used to dive abs about 5 or 6 miles S of there at Pebble Beach, just S of Pescadero. Never got bothered, but you were frequently looking over your shoulder...
